Review:
As clean, fresh scents go, Lacoste Essential is actually pretty good. True, it's heavily synthetic, but it takes several twists that scents of this genre do not. Instead of citrus, Essential goes of cassis (black currant), so it has a slight fruitiness that is unusual. And it also has a pink peppercorn note that gives it a bit of bite. But the most intriguing addition is the rose heart note. This unique floral addition makes Essential resemble a sort of modernist version of Acqua di Parma. No, it's not great, but, as sporty department store scents go, Lacoste Essential is definitely above average.
