Upmarket New York perfumer has launched the latest fragrance in its Andy Warhol series of perfumes inspired by the 1960s artist. Union Square is the second in the collection and is named after the location of two of Warhol’s studios.

The slim sculpted glass bottle is also styled to pay homage to the artist and features a fuchsia, red and yellow design based on his portfolio of vibrantly coloured flower screen prints, which he created at his studios in Union Square in 1970. Bond No. 9 describes the smell of unisex fragrance Union Square as “a seductive green floral that’s simultaneously cool and warm”.

Union Square
is available in 100ml and 50ml bottles and is available to be imported into the UK by retailers. The 100ml bottle has a recommended retail price of US$195 (£99), while the 50ml bottle retails at US$135 (£68). It is also selling a gift box of 10 100ml bottles each featuring different coloured designs for a retail price of US$1,500 (£760).

The first perfume in the Andy Warhol series was The Silver Factory, named after his infamous 1960s hangout.

Last month Bond No. 9 launched a recycling initiative at its boutiques and Sak’s Fifth Avenue department store in New York. It is asking customers to return empty fragrance bottles, both Bond No. 9 vials as well as other brands, for recycling. Additionally, it is giving out a free refillable pocket sprays with every purchase as an incentive for customers to reuse packaging.

Bond No. 9 chief executive and founder Laurice Rahme said: “As I become more aware of the issues facing our environment, I feel compelled on a personal and business level to participate in the green movement – and assume a leadership role.”

Bond No. 9 luxury perfumes are stocked at upmarket UK retailers including Harrods and Harvey Nichols.
